Our Story
Sometimes the right things happen at the right time!
Jamie Walton, renowned cellist and passionate advocate of the arts, always wanted a recording studio on the North York Moors, where he lives with husband Joel, a business expert. While over on the other side of the moors, electrical design engineers, Simon and Jo Hopkins were wondering what to do with their beautiful old barn.
So, the four friends came together and the idea for Ayriel Studios was born.
Six years on, the interior of the barn has been stunningly transformed, incorporating the latest technology, whilst respecting its natural form and materials. It is a calm, comfortable and contemporary space, designed to facilitate the creative process without distraction.
In mid-2021, Ayriel Studios opened its doors and is now welcoming artists from all musical genres.
Sustainability
Building a recording studio in a National Park was always going to be a challenge, but we are committed to minimizing our carbon footprint and the impact on our surroundings. So far, we’ve installed three ground-source heat pumps, 7.5kW of solar panels, one 7kW electric vehicle charging points, and are delighted to have achieved ISO 14001 accreditation for our environmental management system.
